Flash!!! You May Have Heard That an ICOC Conference Is Coming to Washington, DC.

Dear folks –

Many (most) of you may know of this event, but it’s good to err on the side of redundancy.

In an email exchange, Wendel Swan,

wendel with pre-columbian

who is organizing this conference, said the following:

“The 13th International Conference on Oriental Carpets (ICOC) will be held in Washington DC from 6 – 9 August 2015. This edition of these always popular Conferences is being held in collaboration with and in support of the new Textile Museum on the campus of George Washington University.

“ICOC-XIII will include special admission to the important opening exhibition that fills the new museum, at least three additional smaller exhibitions from private collections, two receptions, two days of lectures and panel discussions produced by ICOC at GWU, a show and tell event, access to The Textile Museum’s new conservation and storage facilities and a post-Conference tour to Philadelphia and New York City.

There will be a Carpet Fair in the one-year old conference hotel with an international all-star lineup of exhibitors including Seref Ozen, John Collins, Bertram Frauenknecht, James Cohen, Amin Motemadi, Mark Berkovich, Fred Hazin, Adnan Aydin, Mete Mutlu, Rodney McDonald, Adnan Ali, Anatolian Picker, Murathan Ozgen, Douglas Stock, Mohammad Zavvar and Rodolfo Kachanian.

“ICOC has arranged a special and exclusive rate of $109/night (plus taxes) at the one-year old Hilton Garden Inn, the conference hotel where the Carpet Fair will be held and which is only a 10-minute walk from The Textile Museum.

“To register and for more information, visit the ICOC website and click on Register for 2015 Conference:

“Additional activities and events are still being planned to make this an exciting event.

This is John Howe, again.  I’ll attend this conference.  Maybe see you there.

Regards,

R. John Howe
